“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” Ps 127:1
Our precious friends and family,
Over a year ago we wrote to you a letter that begun with Psalm 127:1- God had moved us. Over this last year the Lord has challenged my thinking about this verse. This verse doesn’t mean that I get to submit blue prints and God does the hard work. No, it means that I may never see the building plans or know what changes have been made but I am to trust God’s character and obey, no matter where He leads.
At our one year mark in Haiti, God is again moving. Our organization has had changes in direction, vision and finances that have led to making the decision that having a family running the guesthouse is no longer their goal or in the budget. We are so very thankful for this past year and have learned so much and loved so many. Although this turn of events was not planned for, we see God’s hand clearly in it. Over this past year God has taught us so much about full time ministry, missions, Himself and how He has designed us to serve Him. Not one bit has been wasted. We are coming out of this year with a clearer vision and passion.
Having sold everything before moving to Haiti has left us in quite a free and unique position. We are tied to nothing and can easily go wherever God leads us next! There are so many options, to serve Stateside or overseas, and we are begging the Lord for wisdom. We will be moving from Haiti at the end of the month. While we are still open to serving in Haiti, a place we have grown to love, we are wanting to take time to seek the Lord’s direction and so plan to come Stateside for at least a season.
We hope to be able to communicate future plans with you all in the next month. We would be so thankful for any continued support during this transition. Please pray for us! Pray for our hearts as we say goodbye, pray for Jael and Zoe in yet another hard move (they LOVE so many in Haiti so deeply), pray for In His Hands- that they would pursue Christ above all, pray that we would honor the Lord and be obedient and pray the the Lord would rise up leaders in Haiti who love Him and His Word, that God would save many!
The Lord gives, the Lord takes away .
Blessed be the most beautiful name of the Lord.
Because of Grace and With so Much Love,
Annie on behalf of the whole Young crew
