Jael is now 10 and Zoe is 8.
To say it’s been a crazy couple years of instability, challenge and change would be an understatement. God is so kind and has held these girls close and used it all for growth and a better understanding of who HE is.
It’s not a normal way to raise kids…but it’s what God has for our family. And it is so beautiful and blessed. They are learning things 20 years earlier than I have. They have had their hearts broken and said goodbye what feels like (to this mommas heart) too many times- God has comforted them every time. They have seen God answer prayers right before their eyes. They have the privilege to see every dollar we ‘have’ as a gift from God provided by Him through the generosity of people who love Jesus and believe in us.
I often have to fight lies that would make me believe our girls are missing out on so much, setting them up to not succeed or will need major counseling (we all probably do right?!). God has call our whole family to this life, a life that may seem uncertain or unstable… but what is real is that the God who holds the entire world together is the One who has called and will provide. If in the end our girls love and treasure Jesus and love people, that’s all we could ever dream for them.
May we be found faithful.
